VIDEO DESCRIPTION: I’m holding a toddler in a red sweatshirt while he holds a small cream-colored bear. He says “art is for everyone!” I say in agreement “art is for everyone!”
CAPTION: Here’s a video of my oldest son — one of my favorite little learners — and me on our way to his first museum education program. I support this message.
I’m a qualitative researcher with expertise in education and learning. Trained as a social scientist, I have extensive experience in design and evaluation methods to assess impact; end-to-end research on implementing inclusive strategies for user engagement; and workshop facilitation and education for clients, cross-functional teams, and students of all types.
The different pages of this site tell you more about all that. On this page, I’m also proud to report I hail from South Jersey; have claimed Astoria, New York, as my adopted home; and am the first member of my family to be born in the United States (all the rest of us are scattered throughout the Italian peninsula). I’m also a three-time Wildcat: I received my Bachelor of Science in journalism and art history, my Master of Arts in sociology, and my Ph.D. in sociology from Northwestern University.
When not sociologizing or consulting, I enjoy making and eating pasta; traveling; theater; the key change in “Livin’ on a Prayer;” spending quality time with friends and family (including my husband, children, and our furry friends); and, and as ever, visiting museums.
